Excellent property. Alison and Stewart are fabulous hosts discrete but knowledgeable and helpful and on hand if needed Comfortable spotless and beautiful location will definitely be back. Can highly recommend

Sara and Mike,

We had a wonderful stay, Alison and Stewart are excellent hosts, very friendly and helpful and suppliers of freshly laid eggs. The gite had everything we needed was spotless and has two lovely outdoor eating areas, the pool is perfect. Local village has two boulangeries, towns and beaches are within easy reach as is Leclerc for everything you might need. Le Scorlion restaurant in nearby St Jean d'Angely is worth a lunchtime visit, 3 courses for 22.50 euros but you must book, market days there are Wednesday and Saturday. Gill Kennedy,

We are happy to write a review over our stay in “La Miellerie.” When having enjoyed very enjoyable holidays it is not difficult in doing so. Even when the temperature went over 40 degrees Celsius, we enjoyed our holidays, because inside the house it is relatively cool, although considering the hot temperatures now-a-days an aircon would be nice. Outside, there are plenty opportunities to sit or lay in the shadow of trees, the barn etc. And having a genuinely nice and clean pool nearby it just is pure relaxing time. Overall, you can enjoy your holidays in the countryside to it extend. The pictures on the website speak for themselves.
Also, we are grateful for the hosts, Alison, and Steward. They are there when needed and if so, also willing to help if and where possible. Thus, when you want a nice and quite place to enjoy your holidays, book for the “La Miellerie” and, as an extra, you will also get nice hosts to make your holidays even better. We surely planning to come back to “La Miellerie.”

We waren erg tevreden

Erik, Laurence et Leon,

Very high spec house with great kitchen and shower room. Large living space with wood burner in feature fireplace. The heated pool was fantastic we were swimming at the end of September! The location is idilic French tranquility, in a tiny village. But, you are only 10 mins drive to Intermarche, L leclerc, Lidl, and the big market in St Jean d' Angele. If we could give Stewart and Alison 6-Star rating we would.

Charmantes Landhaus mit Pool
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Cecile,

This was a late booking for us after other plans fell victim to Covid, but the week we spent here was even better than what we'd originally planned. It's difficult find something new to add to the glowing reviews but we echo everything we've read. The gite was perfect for a family of four, had everything we needed, was immaculately clean and very comfortable. Everything provided (from furniture to kitchen utensils) was of a high standard but the gite was still very homely and a wonderful base to explore the area. The welcome pack was delicious and a really nice touch - all the better for the home grown/laid produce too. In fact, it's all many little touches that elevate the gite from very good to fabulous.

For us, the gite really stood out thanks to the variety of the garden settings. The area under the pergola was perfect for dinner and watching the sun set behind the trees and church. The 'shed' was ideal for late nights watching the stars (or storms), and there are benches around the garden so that you can enjoy a drink in sun or shade any time of day. Then of course there is the pool area. Secluded and immaculate, gently heated and large enough to actually swim in. Again, it's in keeping with the whole place; well thought through, well maintained, comfortable, and a pleasure to spend time in.

The bikes were a bonus and we're glad we had our helmets as we got out several times. There are lots of well signposted cycle routes or it's easy enough to create your own on the miles of very quiet roads. The gite is rural but that's what we wanted. We'd already spent a week in the Loire valley so the drive south west was fine and the directions were spot on. We'd highly recommend the area for two weeks as there's plenty to see and do but it also worked well for us as part of a two-centre break. Not far from St Jean d'Angley which has everything you could ask for from local markets to super markets, and a nice range of independent shops.

Highlights for us: lazy dinners watching the sunset, playing in the pool, enjoying a slow drink in the gardens, cycling to the boulangerie in Loulay, the glorious beach at St Palais-sur-Mer, lunch and a day wandering in La Rochelle, the river walk at St Savinien, and frankly, just unwinding.

Finally, there's Stewart and Alison; friendly, helpful, welcoming, down to earth, flexible and unobtrusive. Thank you both for helping to make our stay so enjoyable.

Ellis Family,

Just back from an idyllic 10 days at this lovely gite. Stewart and Allison were excellent hosts. Always available to help but never intrusive.
Accommodation was ideal for our family of four and was well appointed. The pool was a particular highlight as were the barn seating and garden areas. Good parking at the gite.
Good local hyper-market 15 mins drive with local bakers and deli a cycle ride away in next village. Gite in lovely tranquil countryside. Great for cycling and good family bikes provided. La Rochelle and nice beaches 45 mins drive away. Great water and and adventure parks at O’Gliss in the Vendee 1.5 hrs to the north. Pu du Fou also well worth a visit in the same area to parks. We had a great holiday and would love to come back.

John Rennie,

Dear Stuart and Alison
We have had a great week in your beautiful Gite. It is beautifully maintained and has everything you need for a great holiday. The super pool is an added bonus. We will want to return.
Best wishes Elaine and Neil

Elaine and Neil Moralee ,

We have just returned from a fabulous week in La Miellerie. The weather was warm, the lovely heated pool perfect for relaxing around and swimming. The gite is beautiful and has everything that a family needs for a relaxing stay. Visits to La Rochelle, the beach and the 'little boats' as St Sauvian were highlights from this trip but with so much more to see we will certainly come back to the area and will even give some serious consideration to buying place of our own to enjoy.

Thank you to Stuart and Allison for being friendly and helpful and letting us stay in your lovely Gite.

Hope to see you again soon.

The Matthews Family,

5/5 - Que du Rêve.
Du calme et un accueil irréprochable. Que du bonheur. A recommander.

Michel De Ruyck,

This was our second visit to this superb gite and another wonderful holiday. The weather was very hot so the ideally located pool came into its own . As did the areas of shade surrounding the property. The gite has all the amenities you would require for an excellent holiday and is located an easy drive to the local supermarkets and shops. Bikes are available for the more energetic. The coast is only about an hour away, as are many other places of interest.
Alison and Stewart are ideal hosts, always available for advice and information, but never intrusive. We would have no hesitation in recommending "La Miellerie" to anyone wishing to holiday in this area of France.

Marian and Stuart. Burnley, Lancs. UK July 2019.

John Stuart Simms,

Don and I have just arrived back home in Brittany and the rain started just as we arrived in Nantes! Welcome back to Brittany. This made us realise how fortunate we were to have 14 days of sunshine at La Miellerie accompanied by the sunshine of Stewart and Alison’s welcome! They could not have been more helpful (thank you for the clock Stewart!) and the gite was lovely, clean, light and welcoming. It may sound a small thing but I echo the sentiments of one of your guests who appreciated the bath towels! So did ! Cosy, soft and thick, yes! The pool was super and I enjoyed swimming in it every day. Stewart laughed at me for rescuing baby wasps, but ........! Lozay is a good centre for exploring the region, We particularly enjoyed our visit to Saintes, a lovely old town and for those, like myself, who cannot walk long distances, there is Le Petit Train which I wholeheartedly recommend, it takes you to places you wouldn’t otherwise find. All in all one of the most enjoyable gite holidays I have had (and I have had very many!) A big thank you to Stewart and Alison

Ann Walker,

We’ve just returned from an amazing 2 weeks at La Miellerie, and already know we will be back! The gite is perfect for a family of 4, very clean and is so well equipped. We loved having different areas to use in the garden and always able to find sun or shade. The pool is beautiful, clean and warm, and was the highlight of the holiday for our 2 young boys. Stewart and Alison are the perfect hosts, very friendly and helpful, but not at all imposing. We can’t wait to go back!

Lisa Atkinson,

My husband and two teenage children have just spent a wonderful two weeks at La Miellerie. The gite is fabulous and well equipped. The pictures on the website are really accurate and the pool is absolutely wonderful. We spent many a relaxing day there! Lovely outside eating area. Such a treat to be in such peaceful surroundings,
Stewart and Alison are lovely hosts and so well informed about the area as they live there. Alison told us about a local event where we had a wonderful party evening with people from local villages with local food.
A day trip to La Rochelle is a must and if you can do try a boat trip to Fort Bouyarde. Fouras is a lovely town to visit also. Our kids loved the canoe expedition from St jean D'Angely which is another gem of a town with great restaurants and supermarkets if you want to cook at home.
I can highly recommend the gite and hope you have as lovely holiday as we have had.

Angela Gillitt,

What a superb holiday home. We have been visiting France for the past 25 years and this property, without doubt, is at the top of our list.
The amenities and location were first class and Alison and Stewart could not have been more welcoming. We both agree that this was one of the most enjoyable holidays in recent times. We would endorse all the previous reviews and if you want to visit this area we would have no hesitation in recommending "La Miellerie"

Marian and Stuart Simms,

Hi Alison and Stewart.
It has all been said before but I would like to add to ever increasing eulogy that is your guestbook. We have recently returned from a wonderful week with you. The gite is immaculate, well cared for and full of the comforts of home - even unfortunately Coronation Street and Eastenders! The main bedroom is spacious, has a large bed complete with quality bedding which all adds to the rest and relaxation and hallelujah for the quality of the bath sheets, certainly not thin and skimpy like some! Very well equipped kitchen/dining area with all you would need - including the complementary and most welcome wine and starter pack of food.
Move outside to the choices of eating areas and choices of BBQs! Under cover, in the shade, full sun...you choose and good quality outdoor furniture to boot!
Lets move into the gardens with areas of immaculately kept grass and flower beds bursting with colour which guide you to the 'piece de resistance'...the heated pool and the surrounding patio. OMG to coin a phrase. We lazed and swam and swam and lazed up to 11:00pm in the inky black night. (You had gone away for a few days so we didn't disturb you!) These were moments to cherish.
The gite is a little isolated which does involve driving but this is a first rate gite, of that there is no doubt and I would have no hesitation in recommending both the gite and Alison and Stewart who are indeed lovely people.

Paul Scurr-Brown,

This is our second visit to La Miellerie - our first was last September 2017 and now June 2018 just 9 months apart confirms this is an excellent place to stay and, it will not be our last!
The hosts Stewart and Alison are so very welcoming and love to provide guests with lots of information about Lozay, the surrounding area and places to visit.
The gite is charming, clean and is well equipped to cater for all needs - even bikes. The bottle of wine, bread, butter, jam and fresh eggs from their hens are the best we have ever tasted and, after a long drive very much appreciated. The location of the gite is gorgeous being nestled amongst sunflowers makes it very private. Lozay is a very peaceful pretty village with lots of lanes to explore and being near to beautiful beaches is also an added bonus. One of the main features for us is the property comes with a private heated pool so even if the weather is a little cool, you can swim quite comfortably. I would have no hesitation in recommending La Miellerie to family and friends but not too many otherwise there will be no availability for us! Chris & Rory Yeadon June 2018,

Christine Yeadon,

We have holidayed in French gites many times and this was definitely up there with the very best. Everything you need to make a perfect holiday. So many areas to enjoy the outdoors whether you prefer to be in the sun or sometimes need a shady spot. The pool and it’s surrounding garden is beautiful. If, like us, you are slightly concerned about having the owners on site, don’t be, I would like to have them for my U.K. neighbours. Thank you Alison and Stewart.

Frances Butterworth ,

Relaxing holiday in lovely, clean and comfortable, well appointed cottage with mod-cons when you need them.

Lots of outdoor space surrounded by open countryside, so it feels very peaceful and secluded, perfect for relaxing by the pool and eating outside. Plenty of shady garden areas and furniture to escape the sun.

Alison and Stewart were very discrete but welcoming and helpful and, providing first-hand information about what and where to visit, eat, markets etc.

If you want peace and quiet this is a truly rural retreat, perfectly situated with quiet roads and a joy to return to whatever the weather.

We really enjoyed the peace and calm of the location which lends itself to relaxation, so it was nice to be able to relax and do practically nothing for three weeks.

Frances & Allen,

We were visiting France for the 1st time with dogs and I was a little nervous about how it would be. I shouldn't have worried, staying in La Miellerie was fabulous and our hosts made us ALL so welcome. Stewart and Alison treated us like part of the family when they invited us round to their home nextdoor to celebrate Mum's birthday. My lab cross Willow fell head over paws for Stewart as did my Mum's dog Noah as they were also made to feel at home. The gite was beautiful and so well equipped, they have thought of everything. The welcome pack we received was the best I've ever had (and I've stayed in many self catering places all over the world) and their hen and duck eggs were scrumptious! I can highly recommend this place on every level and sincerely hope to visit again. Thank you guys for making it such a lovely week!

Claire, Anne and the mutts,

We spent a wonderful week at La Miellerie at the end of July. Having stayed in a number of Gites in this region of France I can honestly say that La Miellerie is there at the top! The gite is a nice size for a family of 4, equipped with all you need and is spotlessly clean. Stewart and Alison are on hand for anything you need, be it advice on the area or fresh eggs from the ever-producing chickens! Nothing is too much trouble. With the children now into double digits we were in need of our own pool this holiday and they spent 10 hours a day in the lovely pool which is beautifully maintained and the perfect temperature for all to enjoy. The surrounding gardens are amazing and we were fortunate to have acres of sunflowers on each side in full bloom! Evenings were spent with a BBQ and the amazing peace and quiet that persists once our kids were in bed! We had a lovely stay at La Miellerie and will definitely be back next time we holiday in France, I cannot recommend Stewart and Alison's gite highly enough to anyone that is looking for a gite in this region of France.

We spent the first week of June 2017 here and highly recommend it. The gite is clean, tidy and spacious and was ideal for a family of four. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful and went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. The heated pool was a real luxury and the kids had the freedom to enjoy it. We loved the local area; pretty rural France with rolling hills and open countryside - with good links in to the coast and larger towns. We would not hesitate to recommend this gite to anyone looking for a relaxing break in a stunning part of France.

Ben Irwin,

Stewart & Alison were the perfect hosts providing the perfect gite. A supremely comfortable property with a great pool area and the most wonderful gardens with numerous places to sit and relax. Book it before someone else does!

landscapephotograph,

The best gite we have been to in France to date. Beautiful property professionally managed and looked after. Pool is amazing with proper filtering and heating. Stewart and Alison were so helpful and kind to our daughter during our stay even when she was talking to them for long periods of time. I sat back on a pool chair and it broke at a rotation joint. Didn’t see Stewart to tell him but to my surprise the next morning it was fixed. Great Wifi and a beautiful house with a fab shower. Not far from Saint Jean de Anglie for shopping and eating. Had a great time and thoroughly recommend this Gite. Thank you Stewart and Alison for your warmth and help.

Emmet Kilbride,

We spent our first holiday in France at this lovely well equipped gite which is ideally situated. Our first ten days were very hot so our afternoons were spent in and around the glorious pool. There are many places to sit and relax and several for barbecuing and eating. So sun or shade is your choice.Alison and Stewart were perfect hosts. We were both very impressed with their set up.

Alison and Steve,

We spent an extremely pleasant week at La miellerie in June. The pool and the gardens surrounding it are beautiful. We swam three times a day and it was at a perfect temperature. Stuart looked after us well without being intrusive and the gite, contrary to some we have stayed in, was very well equipped and is light and spacious. There are many seating areas in and around the gite and the gardens meaning you can always find sun or shade depending on the time of day. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

Mary and Rob,

We have just arrived back after spending a month in this lovely gite while looking for our own new home in the area. As well as being excellent hosts Stewart and Alison gave us lots of useful help and advice in our search.
The gite was bigger than we expected, has a large living room and easily accommodated 4 adults when we had guests to stay. It is in a quiet location but by no means isolated and a short drive from the nearest large town. The pool area has lovely views of the Charente countryside and we used it most days even in May as it is heated. If you like fresh eggs the hens and ducks oblige most mornings and are also amusing neighbours!

Andrew and Julie Kennett,

What a place! Such charm and wonderful hosts. I have just returned from Stuart and Alison's Gite and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for peace and quiet and relaxing break in the most beautiful village. The swimming pool is heated and clean and the gardens and seating areas are nurtured and comfortable with gorgeous views from every angle. I can't wait to go back. Thank you Alison and Stuart for making it special

Tracie Elimelech,

Jenifer Savariau,

This is a wonderful place, located in rural French countryside yet within easy reach of main towns.
Stewart and Alison are very welcoming and always available to answer any questions. The gite is well equipped and very comfortable.
We spent a week in September, made use of the heated swimming pool and travelled around the local area enjoying marvellous French food.
Highly recommended for a peaceful, relaxing holiday.

John & Sarah,

Tucked away at the end of a quite lane in the pretty village of Lozay you will find a warm welcome from the owners this comfortable gite. There is everything you would need for your stay plus a lovely welcome hamper full of local produce. If you can tear yourselves away from the heated swimming pool the area has a lot of offer. Pretty villages a market at the nearby town twice a week. Then choose a day to go to one of the many wonderful sandy beaches. We look forward to going back again next year.

June & Graham Lovatt,

If you are looking for a fantastic gite, in a peaceful countryside location then you will not find much better than this. Lovely house which was nice and cool on hot summer days. It has everything you could want and Sky TV in English which was great during the Olympics. The pool is glorious, just the right temperature. The welcome pack was a very nice touch and the Gite is inviting and tastefully decorated. There are lots of things to see and do in the area. St Jean d'Angely is very nice. La Rochelle is 50 mins away. Loulay is ten minutes away with boulangeries and a great takeaway pizza place, also a very pretty church. Supermarkets are also nearby. The Owners are very friendly and on hand for help and advice without being intrusive and were kind enough to lend us some bikes so we could explore the area. We have stayed in lots of different cottages/gites over the years and this one is top of the list. We are looking forward to returning soon. If you are looking to book, do it, you won't regret it.

Carole V,

We stayed at la millliere for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. It was amazing and a lovely gite
Stewart and Alison were very friendly and welcoming

brian carrigan,

Warmest welcome followed by a wonderful holiday. Our family had such a lovely break. Beautiful views and fantastic accommodation. The children spent hours in the pool. Everything you could possibly need has been thought of, even a baby gate at the top of the stairs. Good location for exploring the region & large supermarkets close by. We will absolutely be returning. Thank you for a perfect holiday.

Mrs Croudass,

We had a wonderful time in the gite. Nice house, perfect garden with pool, nature all around. And a lot to see around.

Annelies,

We have just returned after five days of perfect bliss staying in the gite. This is a
beautiful place to relax, the gardens are beautiful , the pool stunning and the owners who live in the house next door have to be two of the nicest people you could ever meet. We will certainly be back. Thanks to Stewart & Alison for everything , you have a holiday home to be proud of.

Had one week in this beautiful gite. Wish we'd had two weeks! The owners live next door and are extremely helpful but not intrusive. The gite was bright and clean with original features. Very comfortable with everything you need for a holiday, including the option of British T.V. In a lovely village with many walks right from the front door. Outside there is a beautiful pool in a well tended garden surrounded by fields. The only noise is bird song. There is a lot to see all within an hour, from towns, castles, gorgeous beaches, rivers and of course the beautiful french countryside. Definetly would recommend this place!

We wanted to visit friends on our way back up to Caen & we have 2 small dogs. This gite was perfect, had every thing we needed bearing in mind that we didn't want to do a big shop for just 3 days, knowing that we would be out & about with our pals...tea, coffee, sugar, bread, butter, jam & milk, even a bottle of wine. Brilliant. The gite was very clean, cozy & very well appointed. The garden & pool we're lovely and we were able to entertain our friends in rural peace & quiet... I would certainly recommend this gite as a stop over, base to explore the area or for a total crash out! A big thank you to Stewart & Alison.

We stayed for 8 days over the Christmas period with our two daughters. The gite was warm and comfortable and very well equipped. We were delighted with the many thoughtful finishing touches such as milk in the fridge, nice toiletries and we enjoyed the mulled wine on the first evening in front of a roaring wood burner! The opportunity to look after the hens for a few days made it home from home for our younger daughter! We appreciated the comprehensive file of local information and enjoyed lunch at the recommended local restaurant on two occasions during our stay. We were lucky to have beautiful bright weather for the majority of our stay and enjoyed a walk in the sunshine on Christmas Day. I'm sure this is an idyllic spot for a summer holiday.

We had a lovely week in Stewart and Alison's gite, using it as a base for house hunting in the area. It is in a very quiet hamlet yet with easy access to "D" roads to local towns. The area was great for a morning 5 mile jog - no traffic . Pool and gite clean and well fitted. Local "fish" restaurant very French and very friendly.

Colin & Lynn Harley,

From the minute we found La Miellerie online we knew it was what we wanted, and the reality when we arrived surpassed our expectations. The gite is absolutely everything a family needs; with two teenagers constantly hooked onto the wifi whilst relaxing by the pool or enjoying the freedom of splashing about in a lilo fight in the pool, we were able to lie back and sunbathe in the glorious heat with just the occassional chicken passing by the waterside. Long days and evenings outside the gite drinking and dining on the terrace are calm with only the church bells as a reminder of passing time.
Shops within easy driving distance for daily provisions and empty lanes for early morning jogging before the heat takes a grip. Easy reach of beaches for day trips.
Beautiful place and fantastic people, we couldnt have asked for anything more. Hugely recommend it to those wanting a peaceful escape.

The Brambini Family,

This was our second year at La Miellerie and it was every bit as good as the first year. Stewart and Alison are excellent hosts, always on hand but never intrusive. The facilities are excellent, especially the pool which we used every day. A fantastic gite in a beautiful, peaceful location.

Ian, Caroline, Tom & David Watkins,

We stayed in July with 2 young children. The pool was fantastic. Warm enough for the kids. The expansive garden were great to run around and the chickens were a high point of four kids. They loved letting them out in the morning. Allison and Stewart were so very helpful and supportive. The Gite is beautiful in a very quiet village. It certainly feels like rural France. My youngest hasn't stopped talking about tractors and chickens since returning.

Johnathan Rhind,

14 days of tranquillity and R & R. A very quiet and rural village setting. Excellent hosts made us very welcome and were helpful throughout. The Gite was comfortable and coped with 4 adults with ease. The pool area was lovely to have as it was very hot when we were there. Supermarket shopping 20 minute drive and good days out at Cognac, La Rochelle and Ile de Re all within a 60 minute drive. Overall rating very good, recommended.

Dave Harding,

Just returned from 10 days of relaxing bliss in the beautiful French countryside. My partner and I stayed at our friends Stewart & Alisons stunning gite in Lozay. Perfect setting to relax in the sunshine by the immaculate pool and gardens. Surrounded by golden wheat fields splashed with stunning red poppys as far as the eye can see. Our modern yet traditional gite had everything we needed and more combined with Alison and Stewart's knowledge
Perfect accommodation, perfect setting, perfect hosts!!
"Super" "Super" "Super!!" 😉
Thank you so much again for making our stay so enjoyable.
See you guys in September!

John & Ann-Marie,

We were looking for a holiday in a peaceful setting with plenty of outdoor space to relax in the sun and do some cycling. We also wanted to visit La Rochelle and Ile de Re. La Miellerie ticked all the boxes. The Gite is very well placed for the local cycle paths which are safe and traffic free. Even in October the weather was warm enough to sit by the amazing pool and enjoy uninterrupted rural views. It is a fantastic place to unwind and discover this lovely area of France and Stewart and Alison are the perfect hosts.
Jane and Andrew Ferguson 12-17 October

Jane Ferguson,

Thank you so much Stuart and Alison for making our holiday so amazing. The Gite was beautiful, comfortable and spacious for Four adults and Two children. We all loved the pool and spent most of our time around it sipping wine in the lovely sun. The local area is very picturesque with some lovely walks. Further afield there are plenty of quaint towns to wander around and the children loved Futuroscope ( theme park) almost as much as the adults! So sad to leave a wonderful place run by wonderful people. We will be back.........
Big hugs
The Burton's and Smiths. 17th-24th Aug.

Kelly Burton ,

We can't believe how lucky we were to find your gite on the internet - it was everything we wanted. The four of us didn't want to leave such an idyllic place. Alison, Stewart and Shannon were so kind and helpful and great fun! They recommended places to go to and even lent us a map to make sure we arrived safely. there are not many owners who on finding we hadn't eaten when we arrived late and all the shops were shut, would bring round ingredients out of their own kitchen so.that we could make omelettes to enjoy. Thank you so much. We can't wait to come again to see you plus your four other 'girls'

Valerie and Alan Shaw + Nikki & Alex,

The Watkins family had a wonderful week at La Miellerie. It's a peaceful gite but only a 2 minute drive to the nearest Boulangerie and Coop in Loulay and 10 minutes to the supermarkets of St Jean D'Angely.
The pool is wonderful and our teenage boys spent a large part of the week in it. They also appreciated the wifi broadband.
Stewart, Alison and Shannon were perfect hosts - always there when needed, but not at all intrusive.
If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday then La Miellerie is ideal.

Ian Watkins,

We have just enjoyed a wonderful week at this Gite in a superb location with fantastic views, very relaxing. The house is really well appointed clean and comfortable everything you could need. The pool is lovely and all four in our party made the most of it.Lots of places to visit and Stewart and Allison were most helpful and welcoming very knowledgeable about the area.We would recommend lamiellerie and hope to return.thanks Stewart and Allison.

Mary Camilleri,

Our fourth visit to France but definitely the best. We enjoyed a two week stay with hosts Stewart and Alison and found every part of our stay perfect. As its first Australian visitors I believe,we found the gite well appointed, spacious and modern but in a traditional French style. All creature comforts afforded in the grounds of a fabulous garden. Set amongst local farm fields the property boasts spacious recreation areas including a swimming pool. The weather was fabulous during our stay and coupled with a number of evening barbeques it had the feeling of back home. We loved the local area and travelled further afield some days to places like Niort and La Rochelle. Our hosts were only too happy to assist us during our stay, that included some advice in French translations. Thanks Stewart and Allison!. I would definitely recommend La Miellerie to all my friends and will hopefully return there in the near future.

Kerrie and Gordon Bickle,

My husband and I visited this lovely gite for a week in March (first visitors I believe).
We had an amazing time whilst there, weather really friendly (even in March) and would highly recommend.
The area is lovely, the grounds beautiful and the gite a real home from home, everything you could wish for and only 45 minutes from La Rochelle.
The owners, Stuart & Alison are really nice, down to earth, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area, nothing is too much trouble for them.
We will definitely book to visit again, hopefully later in the year and will tell all our friends and family about it.

Thank you Alison & Stuart xx
