The photos are of Surgeres, St Jean d'Angely, La Rochelle, Saint-Palais-Sur-Mer, Angouleme, Cognac, Beauvoir sur Niort, and Saintes.

If you visit in July and August every saturday night is an outdoor dining and dancing event at Thorigny sur le Mignon .... just take your plate, cutlery, cup and you can buy moules, frites, poulet, pain, escargot, melon, gateaux, vin and then dance the night away.

If a relaxing day fishing is what you desire then five minutes drive or twenty minute cycle ride along the country lanes and you will arrive at Migre .... you can rent fishing poles, catch trout in the continually stocked ponds and streams and if you desire eat at the restaurant or buy snacks at the cafe.

If you just want a relaxing meander along the River Boutonne, then park up at Les Granges in Saint Jean d'Angely, about 15 minutes from our gite and amble through the trees on a beautiful sunshine day.
